Students drew their favourite dojo characters in a larger scale and then chose the best adjectives they could think of to describe their cool characters. They then worked with their reading buddies to create a mirrored reflection of their dojos together.

This grade 5 level art activity was done by my grade 1 and 2 class. They loved creating diagonal lines and differently sized shapes of squares and parallelograms. Students worked through this lesson in a whole-class step by step procedure.

COLLABORATIVE ART PIECING

Picture
In celebration of the 4 Sundays of Advent, my grade 4 class worked on a fun art project that focused strongly on collaboration and communication.  By coming together with their puzzle piece neighbours- each student created their portion of the art design "HOPE".  The class had a good reflection on how to improve their strategies for next time, and looked at areas of strength and areas for improvement.

PITCH A TENT

The kids made tents for our Camp-themed week in summer camp! They posed for a picture which we then minimized so it could fit inside our art-made tent (the kids got really creative by posing "sleeping", "fighting a bear" and "roasting marshmallows").
