VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE

Teaching & Sports Coaching

Cape Town, South Africa

Classroom teacher at Ukhanyo Primary School with “African Impact” Volunteer Program.  Facilitated sports coaching for grades one through six and taught a Grade 2 class of 60+ students!

Ukhanyo was an “Afrikaans” speaking primary school, while I also worked at Children of Hope, a “Xhosa” speaking facility for children aged one through six. These vastly different schools/communities challenged my limitations, encouraging a language barrier breakthrough.
